I’m a queer-identified therapist who specializes in helping women and gender-expansive adults struggling with self-doubt, who want to stop people-pleasing and start feeling secure in themselves. If you’re feeling like you’re about to burst at the seams, then this is a welcome space for you.

who I serve:

I see individual adults of all genders who are discovering there is a disconnect within themselves of who they currently are and who they want to be. This might mean feeling like “I know what’s wrong and I can’t seem to make it better” to “I don’t know what’s wrong but something definitely isn’t working!” I work with folks that are navigating complex trauma, ADHD, religious trauma & political turmoil, kink/BDSM & polyamorous dynamics, and people who are nervous about entering therapy for the very first time.

I specialize in providing affirming and compassionate care to women and gender-expansive folks that were raised by emotionally immature/narcissistic parents, as well as people who struggle with Perfectionism and people-pleasing.

my therapy vibe:

My primary goal in becoming a therapist was to help people kick some ass in their lives (metaphorically speaking). I’m hear to listen and learn about you, just as much as you might be in therapy to learn about yourself. While I do have a relatively casual vibe as a therapist, my approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, rooted in holistic and relational practices, such as coherence therapy, attachment-based therapy, EMDR therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. Overall, my practice utilizes an intersectional feminist and social justice framework.

So basically, I see you as a whole person with a life of unique experiences that has influenced how you operate in the world and how you see yourself. The systems we live in (political, geographic, cultural, etc.) impact all of us in various ways, and I believe the more we can understand that impact, the better we can know ourselves and become who we want to be.

we might a good fit if…

You’re looking for a therapist that values providing clients with direct and honest feedback, while also being non-judgmental and laidback. A therapist who doesn’t care if you curse in session (as long as you don’t mind that I will too!) and who wants to join with you in a back-and-forth dialogue where you might occasionally be challenged, and who loves when clients correct me when I might get it wrong sometimes, because we’re both humans and I’m not a “sit in a big chair while client lies on the couch” kind of therapist.

I wear band t-shirts to session and change my hair color every 6 weeks. I encourage clients to color, fidget, and eat/snack in sessions; whatever they need that day, I am here for it. If you need to scream into a pillow sometimes too, rock on.

a tiny bit about me personally:

On any given day, when I am not in sessions, you can find me annoying my cat, spending time with my partner, in a yoga class, or discovering a new restaurant. I love dressing up to go to renaissance festivals and have not grown out of playing video games (shout out to my fellow cozy-gamers!).

Being a full-time mental health counselor is one of the biggest privileges of my life, and I am so grateful to have a job that forces me to stay humble and interact with such a diverse community of people. I believe an important part of being a therapist is having your own therapist (AKA my client’s grandtherapist) and seeking consultation amongst experienced peers so that your own sh*t doesn’t spill over into client sessions.

my values & identity

If you have any other questions regarding my values, please reach out!

It’s totally understandable to be skeptical of therapists nowadays; it can be quite a shock to find out your therapist doesn’t align with you in certain values, so just to clear some things up….

I identify as non-binary and was assigned female at birth (or AFAB). I was raised in a white Evangelical household and eventually left the Evangelical Church when I fully embraced my identity as a queer, gender-expansive person. That being said, I know the first thing people see when they look at me is “White woman,” and with that comes a lot of privilege that requires awareness through anti-racist education/trainings.

I believe therapy is political, and the therapy space is a place for clients to learn how to feel brave and empowered, which means it’s my responsibility to be aware of the power dynamic that exists between therapist-client, and navigate that with thoughtful care. Therapy also means being involved in community so that we can learn from the people around us and receive the feedback we need to grow in our wisdom. I obtain consultation regularly from therapists and mentors who are also dedicated to anti-racist and liberation-oriented practice, ensuring competence, evolving skills, and more.
